FAQS

What age group is the book for?

Lauren has taught these lessons from 6th graders, to 66 year olds. There is no "too old" to learn to be an artist, but anyone under 12 may want some additional guidance from a adult to complete the activities.

Is it a book, art class, or sketchbook?

It's an art class, built into a sketchbook, taught via video lessons. Lauren wanted a way to give you a self-paced art course, directly from her, with the instruction and the work integrated together.

Where can I get the cool TINAS pencils?

The awesome pencil used in the video was created by Sally Gulde, with Lucky Pencil Co.

Sally lives in the same neighborhood as Lauren and Becca, and was one of the "test students" for the book, along with her daughter Francis.

Are there any other supplies I should buy?

All you need for TINAS is a regular #2 pencil with a good eraser.

If you want to purchase some fun additional supplies, you can purchase a set of drawing pencils, which will help you shade faster.

Color is not discussed in the book, as it will be the main topic of the second book. Therefore, you don't need any markers, colored pencils, or paint for this book.

I don't understand a page in the book, how can I get clarification?

If you're struggling understand a concept after watching the videos, please reach out to us using the "contact us" button at the bottom of the page.

We need to know what might not have been communicated well, and we appreciate your questions as they help us be a better teacher.

Where can I find the videos?

All the videos will be hosted on YouTube, only accessible by scanning the QR codes built into the book itself.

Any sharing of codes, copying of pages, or unauthorized distribution of This is Not a Sketchbook, It's an Art Class can be punishable by law, as these materials are copywrite protected.

What is the return policy?

Unless the book arrived damaged, no returns are accepted.

I don't want to scan each code. Is there another way?

Absolutely! The videos are hidden from public view, but once you've scanned the first, the next video will be linked as a "Suggested Video" at the end of the current lesson

If you prefer to watch from your desktop, just scan the QR code from your phone, email yourself the link, and open up the first video on your desktop. Then follow the steps listed about, so you only have to do this part once.
