A guide for students wanting to use the grid method, but struggling with using a ruler. This sheet is a guide to be placed under a photo reference and a drawing surface to create perfect squares. Best if used with a lit background, like a window or light table.
This resource is used in my Gridding 101 video, found on YouTube, Original has color guides as well, but if you're not able to access a color printer it will still work great in black and white.
Note: Make sure printer scale is set to "Printable Area" to make your boxes 1". However, if the printer doesn't print correctly, the guide will still work great. As I say in my video "a square is a square is a square." As long as you are using the same amount of boxes on your drawing reference as you are in your drawing surface the guide will work great.

I’ve always thought I was too much of a perfectionist to be good at drawing or that you have to have some sort of natural ability to be good at it but Lauren’s lessons actually leverage that as part of the process. She’s taken something very daunting and turned it into something achievable AND enjoyable. Highly recommend! I’ll post another review when I complete things and post a progress pic.

I have just started and I already love this class/workbook so much! Having everything already assembled in one book makes each task so much easier than a typical online art class. I can watch the video and make sense of what I’m learning. Without having to print or replicate what I see on a screen, having the examples and structure already designed in my book is so helpful. Loving this from afar in Jersey!

As a high school art teacher myself, I struggle with organizing my curriculum in a way that gives my students a solid foundation in drawing, but that's not too dull or tedious...this book seems to strike that balance. A friend suggested I check out Lauren's Instagram and I was blown away by the beauty of her students' work! I want to make sure that I'm teaching my students the skills that will let them be equally successful. This book is my summer PD. :)

I am enjoying this class so far. this is such a unique concept. Also the branding is great. my partner picked this up from the post office and was eager to know what it was...since it was "not a sketchbook." I found out about this product from Scott Christian Sava.

We bought this as a Christmas gift for my niece. She’s a middle schooler but very advanced art student. She loved it and is learning more each lesson! Very cool!

I am so happy I bought the book! I am an art teacher and I wanted a new (and organized) approach that would help me teach my groups. I have followed the book myself and I LOVE the easy to follow process Lauren teaches. She’s so thorough in explaining and even experienced artists will benefit from just following along and practicing the skills. I would absolutely recommend this book!

If you're looking to hone your own skill or finding a better way to teach those pupils around you, this is the tool of a lifetime! Great for beginners!! I have always struggled with realism. This helped fill some gaps I had from various teachers. Like a key was given to all the secrets!

This is brilliant. The interactive nautre of this book by the use of QR codes to take you to videos on the next steps is fantastic. You fell like a student in her classroom. It breaks down the fear associated with drawing. It gives small chunks of techniques that you can become successful with. Before you know it they all start to fit together like a puzzle. Then you look up and your drawings have taken a huge leap forward in skill and understanding.
